Berrettini's Return from Injury Cut Short
Matteo Berrettini's return from injury was cut short on Sunday as he was defeated in the final of the Stuttgart Open by British No. 1 Jack Draper in three sets.
Berrettini, who was playing in his first tournament since undergoing hand surgery in February, looked sharp in the opening set but Draper gradually grew into the match and took control of the proceedings.
The Italian fought back in the third set to level the match at one set apiece, but Draper proved too strong in the end, winning the deciding set 6-2 to claim his first ATP Tour title.
Berrettini, who has been ranked as high as No. 6 in the world, will now look to bounce back from this disappointment and regain his form ahead of the Wimbledon Championships.
